The REACH workshop is for EPMA Members only
As the Pre-Registration period for REACH will start in June 2008, the EPMA is organising a third REACH Workshop for its members. It will start at 09.00hrs on Thursday 29th and finish at 13.00hrs with lunch on Friday 30th . There will be a small charge to cover costs (see participation form).
Although the detailed agenda has yet to be finalised, Day 1 is likely to include presentations by stakeholders of PM industry and others on more general aspects of the Regulation as well as "Powder Metallurgy Specific" aspects. Day 1 will be followed by a cocktail and an informal dinner. Day 2 will include a REACH “European Powder GroupMeeting” where a discussion will take place with REACH consortia and organisations on the Powder aspect in the Registration.

Workshop Objectives
To update EPMA members using metal powders and other substances on their responsibilities under REACH and the likely effect on their businesses. A special focus will be put on the Pre-registration aspect and communication through the supply chains.
To analyse the possible concerns in term of environment and health, which may be associated with the powder or particle aspect of the substances.
To assess the uses and categories of uses particular to the PM industry.
To provide a forum for discussion on “REACH and PM” with about ten REACH consortia and organisations.
To offer methods of minimising effort and duplication in the provision of information for the Registration dossier. to obtain guidance from members on the level of support required from the EPMA secretariat.
Who can attend
The Workshop is for EPMA members only, and participants should have a basic understanding of REACH . However, a short introduction and an overview of REACH will be presented at the beginning of the Workshop. Also additional documentations may be downloaded from the EPMA web site.
