Description: Using warn compaction, the part has a minimun density of 7.2 g/cm3 and a minimun ultimate tensile strength of 155,000 psi. The external helical teeth and straight involute splines are molded as a net shape. Oririnally designed as a forming, P/M warn compaction was able to provide a 30% cost saving. P/M offers a net-shape part that surpasses the performance of a machined forging. Secundaries are limited to deburring and mirror machining.
