Description: The part weighs 3.5g and is made of iron-7% nickel
powder which is sintered to a density of 7.70 g/cm3. This MIM component is part of a gun and replaces a part made of alloy steel by investment casting and machining because of the cost advantages of metal injection moulding.
The wall thickness near the two holes in the
security lever is maintained at 0.3mm. Test firing with the MIM lever
showed no change in dimensions after firing the gun 50,000 times.
