Description:
Its the first time in powder metallurgy that a high loaded heavy duty part was designed against variable amplitude fatigue based on service load measurements in a gear box. The required high structural durability for at least 300.000 km was achieved by substituting the conventional double pressing and sintering process by warm compaction and using an environmental friendly, nickel-free alloy. This enabled more economical part production compared to conventional double pressed and double sintered components.
