EHMG (European Hard Materials Group)

The European Hard Materials Group ('EHMG') represents  EPMA members, suppliers and research community involved in hardmetals, diamond tools and CBN.

In common with other EPMA Working Groups, the EHMG seeks to focus on issues best handled at industry rather than company level. It also seeks to establish and foster close working relationships with existing national industry bodies.

Its activities include:

standards
research

ESPG (European Structural Parts Group)

Objective

the objective of the ESPG is to promote the interests of EPMA members involved in the structural parts supply chain.

It hold meetings involving parts makers and their suppliers to discuss issues of concern to the sector. Thes eare normally twice yearly at the EPMA events in the spring and autumn.

Euro MIM (European Metal Injection Moulding Group)

EuroMIM was formed out of the successful 3 year MIM Thematic Network "MIMNet" which finished in October 2000. EuroMIM had its inaugural meeting in January 2001. It now has over 40 companies from along the supply change as members

The Objectives 
EuroMIM Group is serve its members by identifying and serving the special needs of the members and providing a united voice to the outside world"

Main  current activities include:

- To widen market awareness of the potential and capabilities of MIM by attending end user and competitor events

- Information brochures on MIM

- Work to help develop new ISO standard for MIM

- Accessing Data for the Global PM Database

- It meets once or twice a year usually in the Spring and autumn

PMRADNET (Research & Development Group)

The PMRADNET is the result of the formation of a Group of major European PM focused research centres to work in the following areas.

  1. Development of collaborative research projects between two or more partners
  2. Transfer of students and/or staff on secondment between partners
  3. Sharing of equipment on a case by case basis
  4. Within the umbrella of the European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) develop links with its sectoral groups to facilitate industry participation in collaborative research programmes and to promote the development of the Group
  5. Support to EPMA in those activities related with education and research topics, as well as promote under this umbrella any convenient policy related to these topics.
  6. To undertake an annual update of a joint programme of activities.

The PMRADNET will comprise initially of 13 major European PM Research centres
