P/M and AMETEK Specialty Metal Products stretch back to 1988 when Ametek, Inc. purchased the metal business of Pfizer, Inc. The acquisition included Pfizer's metal powder and clad metals plant in Eighty-Four, Pennsylvania and P/M roll compacted strip plant in Wallingford, Connecticut.
