It was started by Professor Everett Hall of Columbia University in 1916, becoming Alcan Metal Powders in 1963 and ACuPowder International, LLC in 1995. ACuPowder is the leading manufacturer of non-ferrous metal powders with manufacturing plants in Union, New Jersey and Greenback, Tennessee . The manufacturing process includes Atomization, Metallurgical Reduction, and Comminution. Its powders are used for making Sintered Powder Metallurgy components, Filters, Diamond Tools and Composites. The powders are also used for coatings, joining, catalysts and chemical compounds. These components in turn are utilized in automobiles, aircrafts, home appliances and hand tools.
