Comments on 2006 PM Training Course

Below are a selection of comments made by the students about the 2006 PM Training Course.

. This type of Training Courses must continue in future! Congratulations!

. I think this training course means a new beginning for the young researchers from East and West

countries of Europe. Courses on Summer School are a very goo opportunity for initiation and

knowledge development in powder metallurgy and also in advanced materials.

. I think that the program was a bit too full. Maybe is better to have an extra hour of lunch time and to

finish later. The courses have been veery interesting, the organisation excellent. It was a very good

opportunity for me especially the laboratory work

. The lessons could have been 45 min, because then you're able to stay focused the whole time. Some

more 'freetime' before lunch and dinner would be preferred. I really enjoyed this summer school and I've

learned a lot. Most of the speakers were good but someone spoke too much of their national accent and

then it was hard to hear and understand.

. This course was a very good opportunity to meet other people and to discuss on technical point with

people and "teacher".

. Well Done!

. Always interesting to know different things especially with such a wide range of PM topics.

. It was great. Thanks for the very good organisation. It would be very nice (to have) more courses like

this in other areas of interest. Thanks.

. Very much stuff in a short period of time!

. Thanks to correspondents for their efforts with high performance. Providing a CD that includes at least

diagrams and graphic information, if there is some limitations the complete course content in CD.

Making a database of all participants and lecturers for later communications as a part of Membership

area in EPMA website.

. The summer school offered a relaxed atmosphere for getting in contact with engineers or scientists from

many Eruopean countries. In my opinion it would be beneficial to incorporate more group sessions

focused on problem solving. The reason is, that during these sessions the attendees are encouraged to

discuss and thereby apply what they learned and get a good impression on how deep they understand

powder metallurgical processes. A bad thing was that when people got to know each other, mainly local

groups formed (I.e. only Germans, Spanish, .). It would be helpful to encourage more

internationalisation by intentionally forming mixed nationality groups for problem sessions or lab work.

In addition the hotel rooms should be shared by persons from different countries.

. Very nice was the "mixture" of the audience (industry + research departments from many countries). So

each "party" could learn from each other (the researchers from the practical knowledge from the persons

from industry and vice versa). Was a good opportunity to meet people working on the same speciality -

field and discuss with them - and even stay in contact.

. Needs more time for interaction between participants especially between speakers and people who

attend*. Needs references on each presentation (books, papers). This would be very helpful for

someone who is more interested in selected talks. *maybe longer breaks/meetings with speakers etc.

. I am very happy to take part.

. It's a very good opportunity to know people from different countries who are working in PM and we can

also feel the industrial application of PM process, which is very good for me.

. Excellent organisation, met a lot of people from research environment and industry, possibility to

present your won work to other people, would like to hear something about surface densification of

gears, familiar atomosphere.

. I really want to thank Bob Moon and Joan Hallward for a wonderful job, I think all participants very

much appreciated!

. Excellent organisation. Great event (the best I have ever attended). You meet a lot of other people (very

international). Establish contacts with scientists which can be beneficial for the future. I would really

recommend it to all young academics in the PM industry. I hope for the future that the EPMA Training

Course will take place every year so as many people as possible can attend.

. I would like to say again that the organisation and management of the event have been perfect.
