The Research Education Training (RET) Group of the EPMA represents industry and academia throughout Europe. This group has a number of objectives one of which is to enhance the level of teaching of powder metallurgy at academic establishments which do not include PM in their curricula. This is being achieved in a number of ways, one of which is through developing a range of educational training materials, such as pre-prepared lectures, complete with high quality slides on different aspects of the powder metallurgy process, a range of free booklets summarising the PM Process and Metal Injection Moulding, and comprehensive information about powder metallurgy available on the EPMA’s internet site: www.epma.com. The group is also responsible for the organisation of intensive short courses and seminars on powder metallurgy for both academia and industry. Another activity is the coordination of the very successful series of ‘PM Training Courses’, offering low cost training to many European research students, funded through the EU framework Programme.
