EPMA Functional Materials Seminar Update

  • Share this page:

During EPMA’s Functional Materials Seminar, hosted by Forschungszentrum Jülich in April, Peter Kjeldsteen (Sintex a/s) announced his proposal for the first Functional Materials Club Project. The project proposes that a concept car is built (a hybrid car with combustion engine, electric motor and battery) which contains as many as possible parts made from PM manufacturing techniques. The purpose of this project is not to build the perfect hybrid car, but to demonstrate that there is a sufficient supply chain to produce all the relevant parts by powder metallurgical manufacturing methods.

While some interest has been informally shown, we would like to announce there will be a Functional Materials Open Meeting at Euro PM2018 Congress and Exhibition in which the project will be discussed and will be open to attend attendees (Members and Non-Members).
