World PM2022 Congress Technical Programme Update

On 16 February 2022, the Technical Programme Committee (TPC) met online to set up the programme for the World PM2022 congress.

Over 60 PM experts from industry and academia, not only from Europe but also from USA, Canada, Japan or India, reviewed the submitted abstracts.

This year we have received a total of 354 abstracts (319 Oral presentations and 35 Poster presentations), which is much higher than the 2 previous years (online congresses) but also better than 2019 in Maastricht (287 abstracts). The very high-quality of the submitted papers allowed the TPC members to create a high number of sessions (70 sessions on 4 days) and a wide range of topics within powder metallurgy are represented. Full details of the programme will be released in May with the registration opening in parallel at https://www.worldpm2022.com

The World PM2022 plenary session will be held on Monday 10 October, with the participation of the 3 PM Associations’ presidents (MPIF, APMA and EPMA) and 2 plenary speakers: Mrs Anne Thenaisie from SAFRAN and Mr Laurent Wauquiez, the Rhône Alpes Region president.

In addition to the Technical Programme, there is still time to enter the 2022 Theses Competition. This competition is open to all graduates of a European University whose theses have been officially accepted or approved by the applicant’s teaching establishment during the previous three years. Theses, which must be classified under the topic of Powder Metallurgy, are judged by an international panel of PM experts, drawn from both academia and industry. Winners are awarded an honorarium and complimentary registration to the Congress. The deadline for submissions is 20 April 2022.
