After the success of the first project 'SLM POWD', the European Powder Metallurgy Association, in partnership with Fraunhofer IFAM, Bremen propose a new Club Project Proposal on 'Quality Test for Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) - 'PBF-POWD 2''.
The project proposes to address the following three objectives based on two powders:
- Study the applicability of two metal powders (to be defined) for the Additive Manufacturing process of Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion.
- Set up guidelines on how to characterise and specify AM powder for PBF
- Set up guidelines on how to find the right laser parameters to process with PBF
The overall cost to project partners will be shared between the participants (minimum of 6) through a project fee of a maximum €8,834 per participant. The project is planned to start in the next few months and the duration will be 8 months. The Project is open to all companies.
