Production of Copper-Based Powder Material by Multi-Channel Angular Extrusion of Porous Powder Billets

Abstract

Technological parameters for the production of high-density billets with given shape, dimensions and homogeneous density distribution by multi-channel angular extrusion of porous powder billets with the implementation of backpressure were determined using the results of finite element simulation. The guidelines to determine the optimal dimensions of powder billets and the value of backpressure with the implementation of an equidensity function for porous body are presented. A new advanced technology for ensuring the production of a powder material with a fine-grained structure by one pass into the matrix with one cylindrical inlet and two- or four prismatic outlet channels crossed at different angles on the horizontal plane has been developed. The material produced by using the new technology has been characterized in terms of mechanical properties and density.
