Abstract

Complexitiy is for free, but the the majority of the designs we see does not convert the design freedom into performance. Design inspired by nature and the freedom of direct modeling pave the way for design revolution.
Optimization Drives Design Additive manufacturing enables the creation of highly complex structures, which often cannot be produced with traditional manufacturing methods. When combined with optimization technology additive manufacturing exploits its full potential, enabling production of innovative, lightweight and structurally efficient products that could never be imagined before. Direct ModelingConventional CAD tools often lack the flexibility required to generate organic-like structures. This new design approach is presented with several inustrial use cases givin insight into the design challanges and new ways to adress them.
