New Type Of Servo-electrical Press

Abstract

Dorst Technologies has developed a new servo-electrical press line which is solely equipped with electrical drives for pressing forces of 60, respectively 120 kN. These new members of the growing family of servo electrical presses has been specifically designed for highest precision at maximum stroke rates. The positioning accuracy of the individual press movements (top punch, die, core rod) is within ± 1 µm, and fulfills the most demanding process specifications. At the same time the machine is capable to run at stroke rates of up to 200 spm, which to date have only been reached by stamping presses. With these features it becomes possible to produce compacts with the closest tolerance ranges at maximum production rates, making the process highly economical. These outstanding features are complimented by the green qualities of servo electrical presses, such as minimized energy consumption, low noise emission, and the absence of environmentally critical fluids such as hydraulic oil. The paper presents the new press line with its capabilities and functionality details.
