Powders Amdy 625 and TiGd2 were mixed in ratio 1:1 and 1:3 during direct metal deposition (Trumpf DMD505) for layerwise laser cladding aiming to fabricate a gradient of properties in a triple NiCr-Ti system. Relationships between 3D laser cladding parameters and intermetallic phase structures in the consecutively cladded layers were determined. Optical microscopy, SEM with EDX analysis and measurements of microhardness were used to study the structure formation after the laser synthesis of intermetallic compounds.
