Axle Holder

Benefit: Cost Saving, Increased Component Complexity
Main Forming Process: Metal Injection Moulding
End Use Sector: Automotive
Material: Copper, Ferrous
Finishing: Heat treatment in brackets
Description
The axle holder is made from AISI steel 17-4 PH (17Cr-4Ni with 4%Cu) . This metal injection moulded part which is 40 mm long and 1.0 mm thick acts as a flat spring which can be set to hold a steady pressure.
The part was originally made by a three stage process involving machining, wire EDM and coating.
Benefits
The MIM version results in a cost saving of 70%
