The 316L stainless steel part is sintered to 7.7 g/cm3 density and concentricity tolerances of 0.05mm are achieved. MIM was chosen by LEICA for a complex component used in its new R8 camera.


Wall thickness on this new MIM part are as low as 0.3mm. Because the part is partly visible in the camera it also requires a good surface finish. The part is black chromed after sintering.
