Piston Cooling Nozzle

Benefit: Cost Saving, Increased Component Complexity
Main Forming Process: Metal Injection Moulding
End Use Sector: Automotive
Material: Ferrous
Description
This MIM part is used in a V8-cylinder engine for piston cooling. It is assembled in the engine block in order to direct a defined oil jet stream onto the diameter of the piston bottom side. The tube is brazed into the appropriate bore after sintering. The small tolerances and required braze slot could only be economically realised by Metal Injection Moulding.
