Benefit: Increased Component Complexity
Main Forming Process: Conventional Processing
End Use Sector: Automotive
Material: Ferrous

Requirements

This part belongs to an assembly “Compressor Clutch” for brakes systems in heavy trucks and buses. The function is to stop the compressor when the air pressure is sufficient, in order to save energy and consequently reduce fuel consumption.

Benefits

Working under heavy duty compression and wear conditions the component has been designed directly for PM process as it is practically impossible to fulfil the requirements by other technologies

Component Specification

Density (g/cm3): 7,0 ± 0,2
Tensile Strength (MPa): 650
Yield Strength (MPa): 430
Elongation (% strain): 2
Hardness (HRB): 85
