Requirements

This part is unusually large compared to typical synchronizer hubs. This part is designed and manufactured for high torque applications using a press and sinter process without secondary hardening (sinter hardening material) and very little machining.

Benefits

Conventional synchroniser hubs have their splines broached; this expensive process step is not needed with PM technology, thus enabling a cost saving to be passed on to the customer.
