HC Starck Tungsten is investing approximately €50 million to expand its tungsten recycling operations at its headquarters in Goslar, Germany. The project, reportedly the largest investment in tungsten operations in Goslar in decades, has been approved by its parent company, Mitsubishi Materials Corporation.
The new facility will increase the site’s existing processing capacity by nearly 50% to approximately 7,000 metric tons per year, making it Europe’s largest tungsten recovery plant. This will enable the Goslar operation to meet almost all of its tungsten requirements with recycled material. Today, recycled tungsten already accounts for around 80% of the site’s raw material supply.
