The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) is pleased to announce the upcoming Medical Powder Metallurgy Seminar, co-organised with its partners CETIM and ENISE, dedicated to exploring the transformative role of powder metallurgy (PM) technologies in the medical sector.  

The provisional title of the event is Advancing Healthcare through Innovative Powder Metallurgy Solutions. 

This seminar will provide a comprehensive platform for professionals to discuss advancements, applications, and future trends of PM in medical devices and healthcare solutions. 

Programme 

The seminar is seeking presentations on the following topics: 

  • Case Studies: Implants – Real-world examples of PM applications in orthopedic and dental implants. 
  • Case Studies: Tools – Insights into how PM contributes to high-precision medical tools. 
  • Other Case Studies – Exploration of further innovative uses of PM in the medical field. 
  • Equipment to Produce Medical Parts – Overview of Additive Manufacturing (AM), Metal Injection Molding (MIM), Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP), and other techniques for medical applications. 
  • Medical Post-Processing – Techniques to enhance the functionality and biocompatibility of PM-produced medical parts. 
  • Medical Doctors & Applications – Perspectives from professionals in orthopedics, prosthetics, and other medical fields on the impact of PM. 
  • Normalization & Standards for Medical – Understanding regulatory and compliance aspects for PM-based medical devices. 
  • Powders for Medical Applications – Insights into material selection and powder characteristics for biocompatible applications. 
  • EU Projects on Medical PM – A look at ongoing European projects driving innovation in medical powder metallurgy. 

Venue 

The seminar will be held at Technopole LTDS & CETIM Facilities in Saint Etienne, France. Detailed information about the venue, accommodation options, and transportation links will be provided upon registration.
