Henri Pastor passed away on 6 February 2025. While he retired some 3 decades ago, many seniors scientists and manufacturers did remember his extended knowledge and practical skills in powder metallurgy, specially in the hard materials and the heavy metals fields. Henri spent all his professional life in the research-development lab of the Grenoble plant founded and run by Ugine Carbone then by Sandvik Hard Materials and Eurotungsten. His long involvement in the activities and work of the SF2M (French Metallurgy and Materials Society) was very effective. He shared his expertise with many pm colleagues through his attendance to the international conferences devoted to his technical fields and from many scientific papers. His contribution to several EPMA working groups was acknowledged by the EPMA Award for distinguished services in 1998.
Thank you Henri for your scientific contribution to the pm community. Thank you also to have been a kind colleague and friend, always ready to share some samples about the knowledge you got as a music lover, an Egyptologist enthouthiast and a gourmet.
