Just one year after taking part for the first time and receiving the gold medal, Plansee now counts among the top 1% of all companies rated globally. This powerful signal underlines the company’s consistent commitment to the environment, social responsibility, and ethical business practices – and sends a clear message to customers, partners, and investors alike.

EcoVadis – a global benchmark for sustainability

EcoVadis is one of the world’s leading providers in its field and the global standard for evaluating sustainable corporate management. Companies are rated based on 21 criteria in the areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. To date, over 150,000 companies around the world have been ranked according to the EcoVadis criteria.

The platinum award clearly attests to Plansee’s structured, responsible, and future-oriented actions and reinforces confidence in the company as a reliable long-term partner.

Sustainability as a strategic factor for success

Key areas include reducing carbon emissions (for example, through the use of renewable energies and hydrogen from electrolysis), safe and fair working conditions, high compliance standards, and a strong focus on responsible procurement.

Ambitious climate targets and plans for validation by SBTi

Plansee has set itself solid climate targets, which will be submitted to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for validation in the fall:

• Near-term target 1: 75% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2030 (base year 2020)

• Near-term target 2: 25% reduction in upstream Scope 3 emissions by 2030
• Voluntary target: 90% reduction in all emissions by 2050
