The EPMA Powder Metallurgy Innovation Awards are open to all who manufacture using Powder Metallurgy. Over the years, they have done much to promote and stimulate interest in PM technology. Entries are judged on excellence in exploiting PM, benefit on sustainability, cost savings and/or improved quality, stimulation of further usage of PM materials and technology, and commercial stage.
There are 4 categories:
- Component: components made by any PM process such as Press&Sinter, AM, MIM, HIP, FAST/SPS
- Materials: materials developed for any PM process (including Hard and Superhard Materials, Functional Materials, etc.)
- Process: any process implementation that serves for an improvement in cost, quality and sustainability
- Equipment: equipment designed and built for the PM industry
