To start the “working year”, European Metals is pleased to announce the 6th edition of the Metals Academy, which will take place from Tuesday 18 May (noon) until Friday 21 May (noon) 2027.
After five successful editions, places are expected to be in high demand. With a maximum capacity of 40 attendees, interested parties are asked to complete this Jotform by the end of November to confirm their interest. This pre-registration is non-binding, but organisations are encouraged to consider members of their team for attendance. Members are also invited to share the opportunity with their contacts and associations, and to forward it to their own members.
Metals are central to Europe’s industrial, climate and resilience agenda. Professionals across the membership increasingly need to understand not only their own function but also the broader landscape, and to connect these pieces into one coherent picture.
To meet this need, the Metals Academy is aimed at newcomers and professionals who need a broader, practical understanding of the non-ferrous metals sector. The programme covers mining, metals fundamentals and recycling, as well as regulation, resource management, decarbonisation, markets and communication.
Each year, the organisers invite professionals from industry and academia, along with high-level keynote speakers, to deliver expert-led lectures. For a more personal approach, the programme also includes hands-on workshops and a choice of interactive modules. These give participants a multi-metal perspective and help them learn how to address the challenges of ongoing geopolitical change.
The Metals Academy is a fully immersive, focused residential experience. It allows direct exchange with the wider metals community and offers a good opportunity to build a professional network. The setting is relaxed, green and engaging, and participants can enjoy good Belgian hospitality along with some fun and games.
The Metals Academy 6 will take place at La Ramée in Jodoigne, Belgium, from Tuesday 18 May (noon) until Friday 21 May (noon) 2027.
Course fees (VAT inclusive for all participants):
- €3,000 for EM Direct Members and Members of Member Organisations
- €3,750 for non-members
The Organising Committee welcomes responses directly or via the form, and is happy to answer any questions. More information is available on the dedicated European Metals web page.
