HP Additive Manufacturing (HP), based in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Spain, and Hyperion Materials & Technologies, Worthington, Ohio, USA, have announced a Strategic Preferred Partner Agreement aimed at expanding the commercial use of tungsten carbide (WC) Additive Manufacturing. The companies intend to make rapid prototyping and production-ready WC components more accessible to industrial customers worldwide.

In October 2026, Hyperion installed a new HP Metal Jet S100 machine at its production facility in Barcelona. The collaboration combines HP’s Binder Jetting (BJT) Additive Manufacturing machine with Hyperion’s expertise in WC manufacturing, sintering and finishing. The companies state that this will provide a route from application development and qualification through to serial production.
